Campaign Design

At the heart of every campaign lies the central message, the message that sets the tone for everything that will come after.  However, on a surface level, an element just as crucial becomes the face of the campaign: the campaign design.  Throughout the completion of various projects I have attempted to hone my skills in this specific area and worked to create branding and packaging that I feel correctly display a campaign's central message. The Empty Nest Project is a social good campaign designed to facilitate an answer to the current homelessness epidemic in America. Elements of this campaign included, logo design, starter kit packaging, editorial spread and internet presence

Logo Design

Logo design, which functions as the face of an organization, is usually the first component that comes to mind when considering graphic design elements. Any organization’s logo functions as the face of the organization. My work in logo design has forced me to reconsider the importance of simplicity and caused me to learn how to communicate a brand image with using little to no words at all. 

Print Layout Design

Magazine design and layout is one of my favorite avenues of graphic design. It is one of the most straight forward opportunities to graphically communicate a feeling and message. This specific magazine publication layout is for a conceptual surfing magazine titled Uprising Surf Collective. Elements created for this magazine include a cover design, table of contents and multiple editorial spreads.

Product Development and Design

Working to create a product from beginning to end poses a unique challenge, requiring not only creativity, but patience and efficiency. Developing a product forces an attention to detail and construction beyond the dimensions in which the graphic designer usually works. Being forced out of a comfort zone can spark a new wave of creativity, resulting in work that is not only excellent but unique as well. The concept behind Macungie Boarding Company is a boarding technology company that prides itself in creating handmade and hand-painted skateboards, resulting in products that are both enjoyable and one of a kind.  Elements of this campaign included logo design, six skateboard decks, six unique hand-painted deck graphics, informational booklet/poster, point of purchase display and packaging. 

Graphic Artwork

The last aspect of my work is various instances of graphic artwork, consisting primarily of posters and large images. I feel that pieces like these best convey my personal taste and inclinations, and showcase the best display of my education in the principles of design. This poster was created to visually promote and advertise a Music Festival held in downtown Lynchburg, Virginia every spring and accurately represents the relationship between classic styles and modern techniques that I attempt to incorporate into all my work.
